Legal Graffiti Event at Hall of Fame

Organised and informed by the SWOP* team, a group of around 25 students gathered to witness and participate at the Legal Graffiti Event in Hall of Fame, Augsburg.

Getting there was adventurous and hilarious. Lots of explaining so if you’re not that into the details of my life, skip to the next paragraph. 😀

Apollo 13

Me and two of my friends on exchange here as well, from Odessa (Ukraine) Alyona Pencheva and Yuliia Bailiuk went on the night of Friday to see the spectacular firework right from the Augsburg’s annual Amusement Park Plärrer.

After being really indecisive about going to try out one of the attractions from the amusement park, Alyona joined me for a ride in the Apollo 13 while Yuliia filmed us! 😀

The first time I noticed the fireworks from my window view, the second time I got on the top floor of my dormitory and recorded it from distance and the third time I saw it right from the Plärrer!

In the evening of April’s last Saturday, over 100 students from Hochschule gathered at the Business, Design and Informatics Campus for an event created and organised by SWOP-team. The participation fee was 10 €.

There was beer and lots of pizza!
Unfortunately I didn’t want to pre-drink and the pizza wasn’t vegan so I found myself occupied and entertained by taking videos and photos of others.

In the early morning I got introduced to an awesome huge vintage shop called “Contact” by Carolin, an amazing friend from the Manual Printing Creative Lab.

The purpose of the trip was to get some textile scraps and different pieces of fabrics to later experiment with.
The place is simply a treasure “cave” for an artist!
You can get anything you can imagine there: from tiny pendants to huge items of furniture.

Augsburg is world famous for its string puppet theatre.
“Augsburger Puppenkiste”

The SWAP team from Hochschule Augsburg organised tickets at a great price: 9,70 €
The play was called ‘Tischlein deck dich‘ (The Wishing-table) of Grimms’ Fairy Tales. ~ 90 min

The play started at 4 in the afternoon but I got there later because of my Cyano – experiments on textiles at Manual Printing Creative Lab.

First day at Hochschule Augsburg

Wednesday, 15th of March was our first day of University studies.
The schedule for the International Design Students was two Creative Labs of our choice.
Most of my classmates went to the one that was recommended for us: “Illustration Boot Camp”.

I, instead, have chosen to go to Manual Printing since it involved learning and practising new techniques. The time-plan showed that it was supposed to be in the morning, starting at 9:50, but the classroom was occupied by another workshop. While I was running around searching for the tutor, I ran several times into a professor of Visual Communication. He was very helpful and suggested to join his Creative Lab. 🙂
