During this class we got small notebooks where we had to make fast sketches from the images selected and projected by our tutor Jürgen Hefele. The time limit and method was setted by him as well. It was a great exercise. Even if at the begging I wasn’t very sure about what I am doing because of lack of various materials to draw with (I was using a thick black marker given by my tutor and a pen that I had with me).

We were presented the three major companies that we will collaborate with during our course:

First day at Hochschule Augsburg

Semester Start
at Hochschule Augsburg

Wednesday, 15th of March was our first day of University studies.
The schedule for the International Design Students was two Creative Labs of our choice.
Most of my classmates went to the one that was recommended for us: “Illustration Boot Camp”.

I, instead, have chosen to go to Manual Printing since it involved learning and practising new techniques. The time-plan showed that it was supposed to be in the morning, starting at 9:50, but the classroom was occupied by another workshop. While I was running around searching for the tutor, I ran several times into a professor of Visual Communication. He was very helpful and suggested to join his Creative Lab. 🙂

First Meeting – Faculty of Design Hochschule Augsburg

 

We got introduced to the choices we have to pick for our projects, creative labs and other classes.

There was a person that got my attention specifically. I have no explanation for the reason it happened, just his presence made me tremble and I found a strong motivation to guarantee my attendance at the University 😀 .

Because I didn’t actually introduce myself nor asked that person for his name – the situation got even more mysterious and intriguing.

Top Floor Terrace – PARTY

of Lechbrücke!

On 12th of March we had an Welcome party for all International Students.
It was a pre-drinking event on the top floor of Lechbrücke – the student accommodation where I am living at the moment. The purpose is to have fun, get to know more people and later go out together and dance at a local night club – Ostwerk.

Emptying the room from London was a very hard task to do, I never imagined I have so
much stuff… Thinking about it makes me question my non-materialism and the possibility to travel. How many things do I actually need? How to decide?

My initial plan was to book a storage space in London… but it turned out to be much more expensive than I expected and it would’ve milked my finances weekly.
